Overview

The GSA Conference Committee welcomes you to participate in this year's GSA Annual Research Conference! This annual event is a platform for graduate students to showcase their research work and share ideas within our campus community. This an excellent opportunity for all graduate students to experience the diversity of ongoing research work conducted by their peers and be immersed in a myriad of intellectual discussions.

What is the theme?
Consilience: The unity of knowledge and information across disciplines to establish a common framework of understanding. All research topics are welcome.

Who can apply?
All UCR graduate students from all disciplines are eligible and encouraged to submit a poster or talk or simply come as a participant. All UCR undergraduates and students from other universities are most welcome to submit abstracts for talks and poster or attend the conference as well. Unfortunately, they will not be eligible for the poster/talk awards but will be eligible for door prizes and raffle drawings .

Additional conference information
Venue: UCR Commons Levels 2 and 3, Rooms 302A, 355, 383, 260 and 268.

Date: June 7th 2008

Registration: free

$3000 in awards to be given out for best poster and talk from each college and discipline.

Breakfast, lunch and evening reception provided

Basic media equipment provided are: DVD/VCR player, LCD projectors, sound system.

Abstract submission details
All abstracts are to be submitted here. Information required:

  1. Name of presenting author
  2. Names of all authors
  3. Title of talk/poster
  4. Department affiliation of all authors
  5. Abstract (limited to 1000 words)
  6. Indicate whether it is a poster or talk or both
  7. Additional equipment required (if any) if giving a talk
  8. Primary email address
  9. Institution affiliation if not from UCR
  10. Graduate student/Undergraduate student/Post-doc
  Abstract submission deadline is 23rd May 2008
